Which card networks can I get network tokens from?
All the major ones: Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We are directly certified with each scheme so the tokens you get are native, globally recognized and work across any payment provider that supports them.
How are network tokens updated when a card expires or is reissued?
You do not have to do anything. When a card expires or gets reissued, the network token updates automatically and PCI Proxy notifies your systems via webhook so everything stays in sync. No failed charges, no customers asked to re-enter their details, no revenue quietly lost to involuntary churn.
Can I use Network Tokens without your Token Vault?
Yes, completely. Network Tokens work as a standalone service if all you need is provisioning on your behalf. No obligation to use anything else.
What if my payment provider doesn't support network tokens yet?
Not every provider is network token ready yet and that is fine. PCI Proxy provisions and manages the network token while keeping the underlying card credentials mapped alongside it. You choose what to route to each provider, network token or card credentials, so nothing in your existing setup breaks while the industry catches up.
How much do network tokens actually improve my authorization rates?
Typically 2 to 4 percentage points, though it depends on your business model. Subscription businesses and high volume merchants tend to see the biggest gains because network tokens eliminate false declines and remove expired card failures entirely.
Will network tokens reduce my payment processing costs?
Yes, in two ways. Network tokens qualify for lower interchange rates with major schemes, and they reduce fraud related costs like chargebacks and disputes significantly. The exact saving depends on your volume and transaction mix, but for most merchants it adds up fast.
