Release Note: Enhancing User Experience with Card Art
We’re excited to announce a new enhancement to our network tokenization offering: Card Art!
"With Card Art, PCI Proxy customers can now retrieve and display a visual representation of their customers' physical or virtual credit or debit cards. This feature not only adds a personal touch to the user experience but also fosters trust by bringing the familiar appearance of a physical card into digital interactions", said Beda Schumacher, Head of Product at PCI Proxy.
What is Card Art?
Card Art is a detailed, accurate image of your customer's physical or virtual credit or debit card. It allows merchants to visually represent payment cards associated with a token. This feature enhances user interfaces by offering customers amore familiar, intuitive payment experience.
Benefits of Card Art
- Enhanced User Experience: Card Art gives customers a clear, visual reference that helps them quickly identify their stored payment methods.
- Increased Trust: Seeing an accurate representation of their card reassures customers about the transaction process.
- Reduced Errors: Visual cues minimize the chance of customers selecting the wrong card, especially when multiple cards are saved.
- Brand Visibility: Card Art also showcases the card issuer’s branding, which is particularly beneficial for co-branded cards.
Use Cases for Card Art
- Digital Wallets: Help users easily select cards in mobile wallets by displaying card art.
- E-commerce Checkouts: Offer visual card previews during checkout to simplify payment selection.
- Account Management: Use card art in user accounts to list saved payment methods with ease.
- Subscription Services: Display card art when customers manage recurring payments.
- In-App Purchases: Improve the payment flow by integrating card art for a seamless in-app experience.
- One-Click Payments: Enhance user confidence in one-click payment solutions with familiar card visuals.
How to Implement Card Art
Integrating Card Art into your platform is simple if you’re already using network tokenization. Here’s a quick overview of how to get started:
- Creation: Once a network token is created for a card, the corresponding card art becomes available.
- Request: To retrieve the card art, make an API call to our card art endpoint using the token as a reference.
- Response: The API will return the card art as a Base64-encoded PNG image (Supported format: image/png. Data: Base64 encoded PNG image).
- Implementation: You can display the image by; Inserting it directly into an HTML <img>tag using the Base64 data. Decoding and storing the image for future use.
